If, like me, you enjoy trying something new during your holidays besides chilling on the beach, you are going to love this post! I signed up for a 2 days windsurf lesson while I am on holiday in Cilento.
What did I try? Windsurf! I have seen my father nailing it for ages, and I had always wondered how it felt to be carried by the wind surrounded by blue water, far away from the crowded roasting beach. But I’d always thought that I needed to take a course for more than a week to learn the minimum. Wrong! I found out 2 lessons will get you started with the basic techniques. After that, it’s all practice! I have a few days of holidays so I decided to do windsurf lessons in Cilento.
Where did I try ? In Marina di Casal Velino at the Blue Soul, a German center that organizes course of diving, windsurf , catamaran and much more guided activities in the sea (also boat day tour). They arrange activities in English, German and Italian. My husband went for a diving refresh course and a trip, which he enjoyed as well.
How to organize it? I suggest to give Blue Soul a call to check on the dates and times. They may not have organized the activities you want to do every day. Or you can pop by the center (a quirky little house on the beach), and you can ask for info to the staff.
How to go there? By car. As far as I saw, there is no public transport to the Blue Soul, but you may give them a call to check if they can sort out a shuttle bus with the nearby hotels.
