Incredible art and food tour in a wine cellar

bottle of wine Feudi di san gregorio

If you like drinking wine, tasting delicious food and being inspired by art, look no further. The wine cellar Feudi di San Gregorio has combined all those in one unique place, proving that in Campania there is more beyond beautiful towns on the coast.

The winery Feudi di San Gregorio is located in the town of Sorbo Serpico in the province of Avellino, a region called “Irpinia”, with no access to the sea but lovely green mountains and hills. This area is characterized by the production of wines (greco di Tufo DOCG, taurasi DOCG, fiano di Avellino and aglianico), olive oil, several types of cheese and torrone.

Irpinia is the red area in the map

Why Feudi offers a unique experience? The owners decided some time ago to create something more than a production of amazing wine. They combined art, having their building designed by the architects Hikaru Mori and Maurizio Zito architect and the wine bottles designed by Massimo Vignelli, with fine cuisine, opening a restaurant with a Michelin star chef at the first floor.

It’s possible to book a guided tour that includes a visit to the incredible cellar, the salon with art pieces (mainly contemporary art), the vineyards nearby (the have more vineyards in the region), the rose garden, the superb herb field and a wine tasting of course. You can easily continue your tour having a meal at the MarennĂ  restaurant.

Why is it worth to go? To taste excellent local wine and food, seeing modern design adapted to a rural area, enjoying a tour of inner hilly Campania. And of course, you will come back home with a couple of designer-made bottles of one of the finest wines in Italy !
