2 day trips by ferry and without car in Campania

2 itineraries for everybody to enjoy beach, nature and more on a day trip by ferry. If you are planning to leave your car at home, or you don’t have a car there’s plenty you can do!

1. From Naples center to Capo Miseno

Where is Capo Miseno? Miseno is part of Bacoli, on the peninsula close to Naples, with a beautiful on the bay of Pozzuoli and the isles of Ischia and Procida.

What to do there? Beach life, exploration of old Roman archaeological sites and eating amazing food. The long sandy beach of Miliscola is kids friendly but also a nice spot to enjoy an aperitivo at sunset in one of the many beach bars. Due to social distancing I recommend to book your sunbeds here. Walking in the Miseno peninsula you pass by majestic villas and buildings built during the Roman empire. One of the most impressive is the Pool Mirabilis, among the biggest and oldest cisterns in the world, used by Romans to store drinkable water for the Roman cities in the area and their military fleet. It’s open on demand, so it’s necessary to call the numbers on this website at least 2 days before to book. You won’t pay a ticket but a free donation is required to sustain the site.

How to go there by ferry? From piazza Muzii in Naples downtown there’s a daily service bus to port+ferry. Click here to see the bus stops.

Where are Amalfi and Positano? The 2 towns are worldwide famous places in the Amalfi Coast. Nestled in the narrow bays created by rocky cliffs, they are known for their beaches and their beauty that combines Italian traditional scenes and unique natural landscapes.
